Schedule of Sacred Ceremonies in Honor of H.H. Sai Maa’s Birthday

Homams or yagnas are sacred rituals and ancient fire ceremonies that are prescribed in the Vedas and Shastras, the holy Indian scriptures. During these ceremonies, we make offerings into the sacred fire to dissolve and purify old memories, habits, patterns, impurities that are embedded in our physical and subtle bodies and represent obstacles to our evolution. Homams activate energies of the different aspects of Divine Mother, and powerful deities, that lead to freedom in our spiritual path, abundance and prosperity, power and strength. By utilizing the sound vibrations of specific Sanskrit mantras, these can serve to alleviate many problems in our daily lives.
These homams are especially auspicious and powerful at the time of the birthday of the Guru, and Sai Maa has specifically chosen these ceremonies on this day to serve all of us and humanity as a whole. Pundit Sharma C.S. Samavedula (“Our Punditji”) will preside over these ceremonies with our Beloved Maa, as he has done many times before. It is truly a blessing to be with Maa and to participate in these sacred ceremonies in honor of Maa who serves us constantly for our transformation and evolution.
1. Ganapathy Homam :
Lord Ganesha is the God who removes obstacles. Therefore, everyone begins any auspicious occasion or celebration with Ganesha's Puja in order to successfully complete whatever they have started. Ganesha Homam will remove any barriers that stand in the way of our achieving our goals and will lead us on to success and prosperity. Our body is composed of eight chakras (also known as Wheels of Life according to Kundalini Yoga). By doing 'Ganapathy Ashta Dravya Homam', this 'Kundalini Shakti' (Power) is invoked and thus we develop strong determination and will power to achieve our goals in life.
Special Offerings: 8 different ingredients, ghee (clarified butter), steam cooked rice balls, cooked rice.
2. Mahalingarchana, Rudrabhishekam & Rudra Homam :

By performing Mahalingarchana, Rudrabhishekam and Rudra Homam, the blessings of all the deities are obtained since Lord Shiva is the central power of all deities. Through these blessings, all our desires will be fulfilled, bringing prosperity. All of our negative karmas will be neutralized and we thus attain 'Moksha' (Liberation).
Special Offerings: Black sesame seeds, cooked rice.
3. Chandi Homam :

Chandi Homam is dedicated to the Divine Mother 'Prakruti' - Maha Kali, Maha Lakshmi, Maha Saraswati - 'Triamba Swaroopam', also known as 'Tripura Sundari Mata' and 'Chandi Para Devata'. By performing Chandi Homa, we attain Divine Mother's constant blissful, benevolent blessing which holds immense power and strength. This enables us to reach our destination and attain our goal. This also gives us special Divine Protection from negative energies and evil forces and leads us toward progress and salvation. This is the reason we have a very common saying that "If you have Mother Divine's Blessings, then you have everything". By praying to 'Chandi Para Devata' we will also overcome, what is commonly known as 'Shadripu', the six inner enemies known as lust, anger, pride, delusion, greed and jealousy. As Mother Divine has killed all the bad demons (like Shumbha - Nishumbha, Chanda - Munda, Madhu Kaitabha and Mahishasura), she will annihilate all our bad qualities and thus we will emerge into goodness.
Special Offerings: Black sesame seeds, sweet rice (rice cooked with jaggery or brown sugar).
4. Lalitha Sahastranama Homam :

By performing Lalitha Sahastranama Homam, we obtain special blessings of Divine Mother, leading to overall prosperity, peace and happiness in daily life. Also, we gain Divine Guidance from Mother Divine.
Special Offerings: Cooked yellow rice.
5. Maha Lakshmi Homam :

During the Maha Lakshmi Homam, we invoke Shri Maha Lakshmi Shakti (Power) and thus attain her blessings of wealth, prosperity in material life, success in business, investments, etc. This Homam is performed by offering to the sacred fire 1008 red lotuses dipped in honey (red roses may be substituted).
Special Offerings: 1008 red roses with honey, rice cooked with milk and sugar (also known as 'kheer').
6. Bhagalamukhi Maha Mantra Homam :

Bhagalamukhi Maha Mantra Homam creates immense positive energy and protects us from negative energies and evil forces. It also reinforces positive energy to gain peace and happiness.
Special Offerings: This is performed using yellow rice and yellow roses.
7. Ayushya Homam :

Through the Ayushya Homam, we are blessed with longevity and a happy, healthy life.
Special Offerings: Ghee (saturated butter), cooked rice.
8. Navagraha Homam :

By doing Navagraha Homam, a person's negative karmas and energy will be neutralized, and that person will be bestowed with the blessings of all nine planets.
Special Offerings: Ghee (saturated butter), cooked rice and nava dhanyas (nine types of special grains).

Sponsor the Yagna :
One may sponsor the Yagya for $333. This allows the sponsor to place their name as well as two other names on the sponsors list. Each name is recited into the Yagna fire, a symbol of the burning away of karma. Sponsoring a Yagna brings grace into the lives of the sponsor and those whose names are included in the ceremony.
Those sponsoring the Yagna will be invited to sit and offer to the Yagna fire during certain parts of the Yagna ceremony.
