Om Jai Jai Maa
Among many of the precious gifts that our Sai Maa has given us, she has Graced us with several mantras and has taught us how to use a mantra correctly.
Let's start by understanding what is a mantra? A mantra is usually a set of syllables or sacred words in any language that are the names of God or of Divine Beings. As the mantra is the name of God, when one repeats the mantra with awareness, love and respect, the vibration and quality of God is imprinted and imbued on the individual. Sai Maa says that mantras are infused with divine power and when a guru gives a mantra, the guru adds her Shakti and activates the mantra.
Sai Maa encourages us to give ourselves fully to our mantra and to ask ourselves the question, "What am I ready to give to the mantra?" The mantra is the vibration of God, and since each being is ultimately God, we are really invoking the highest aspect of our own Supreme Self.
When we repeat the mantra either mentally, verbally (out loud), or silently while moving the lips, it is so important to say this sacred name with love and awareness. Sai Maa asks us to lose ourselves in the mantra, merging fully with the sacredness of the name until we are that, melting in the cosmic oneness with God. Allow the mantra to unfold the God within bringing wellsprings of joy, love, peace, and unity.
When speaking on the importance of the mantra, Sai Maa said, "You cannot miss the boat which takes you to liberation if you say your mantra consciously in total devotion-this is the quickest way to merge with God, the quickest and easiest when japa is practiced. You can only practice good actions; thoughts can only be divine, because in your life your focus All Ways is the name and the word."
There are many mantras that Sai Maa has offered and activated for us to practice in our daily sadhana. Some of these are:
- Om
- So Ham
- Om Namah Shivaya
- Gayatri Mantra
- I AM That I AM
One of the most recent mantras that we have been blessed to receive is the Raja Rajeshwari Bija mantra, or the mantra to the Divine Mother. Raja Rajeswari is the Queen of all the Divine Mothers. Maha Lakshmi and Maha Saraswati sit at her feet. Raja Rajeshwari is the controller of all wealth and the granter of all wishes. Another name for Her is Sri Lalitha. The USA has been blessed to receive an 8 foot, black granite murti (living statue) of Sri Lalitha. She will be housed in Chicago in a Universal Mother Center. If you would like to learn more about this project or to see a photo of the murti, click here.
The Divine Mother, Raja Rajeshwari Bija mantra is:
Om Aim Klim Sauh Sau-uh Klim Aim
Om (like home) Aim (eye-eem) Sauh (sow, like cow) Sau-uh (sow-oo, like food) Klim (kleem) Aim (eye-eem)
Sai Maa said to give this mantra freely to all as it will activate the Divine Mother. It can be practiced either silently or verbally. One may also choose to use a mala to count or keep track of the number of repetitions. It is recommended that we chant the mantra either 16, 108 or 1008 times.
This mantra is complete power, full of love. Sai Maa says this mantra fully activates the consciousness of Divinity, Christ, Buddha, Brahma, Shiv/Shakti, to become One with everything. It transforms us from human to Divine.
You are welcome to participate in a guided meditation the features this Royal Mother mantra. Please allow yourself to be in a quiet environment for meditation and push the play button.
