Brain Illumination
Inspired by Her Holiness Sai Maa Lakshmi Devi, Brain Illumination is a simple and yet very powerful technique to introduce Divine Light into the brain, the physical and subtle bodies. Filling these areas with Light, creates an expanded state of Awakened Consciousness, dissolving limiting beliefs, cleansing and strengthening the physical and subtle bodies and opening the door to Enlightened Living. Brain Illumination is the preparation for living in the Golden Age, living in the highest frequencies.
“Love with your mind, think with your heart” – H.H. Sai Maa
Our spiritual growth requires the mind and heart to function together. Bringing Light into the brain is a conscious meditation which begins in the heart. The power of Love anchors and grounds this Light so, as our inner powers and higher functions are revealed, we can experience a more graceful and gentle transformation into Wholeness.

Please take some time to become familiar with the different areas of the brain. _________________________________________________________________________________
Divine Light is intelligent and knows where to go so we don’t have to remember all these locations exactly. However, having a good, general idea will make it easier to direct the Light into these areas to enhance their functioning.

Corpus Collosum divides the right and left hemispheres of the brain. Bringing Light here, allows us to move from duality to holistic thinking.
Thalamus plays a regulatory role for the brain and body. Bringing Light here improves the communication between the different areas of the brain.
Hypothalamus regulates many of the body’s activities as well as regulating the activity of the pituitary gland. Light improves the functioning in all these areas.
Pituitary Gland regulates the major hormones in the body and is connected to our subtle energy body in the third eye chakra. Bringing Light into this area helps create hormonal balance and opens our inner vision.
Amygdala often referred to as the “emotional brain”. It is here that we store all the fear we have created for ourselves. It is the seat of our fear and anxiety. Bringing Light into here transforms our fears into love.
Hippocampus also part of the emotion brain, it is here that we store our long-term memories. It is the seat of many old patterns of behavior that we find difficult to change. Directing Light here, begins to free us from these limiting beliefs.
Pineal Gland secrets melatonin and controls our sleep patterns. Located in the third ventricle, known by yogis as the Cave of Brahman or the House of God, it is connected to the Crown Chakra and is the seat of consciousness in the brain. Bringing Light here expands awareness into higher states of realization.
Occipital Lobe located at the back of the brain. Bringing Light here enhances the processing of visual information.
Parietal Lobe located on the top of the brain. Light here helps to process information from other areas of the brain, helps regulate our temperature, our sense of touch and taste and enriches our reading and mathematical abilities.
Temporal Lobes located on both sides of the brain. Bringing Light here enriches our sense of hearing and our memory and language functions.
Frontal Lobe located in the front of the brain. Directing Light here improves our abilities of critical thinking, discernment, future planning and the setting of goals.
Mid Brain located deep within the brain, at the top of the brain stem, this is the most ancient part of the brain. It holds our oldest patterns of behavior, where we have created non-divine actions and thoughts. Bringing Light here helps to release all that no longer serves us.
Pons and Medulla make up the rest of the brain stem, often referred to as the heart of the brain stem. Bringing Light to this area helps regulate our breathing, heart rate, blood pressure, arousal and other survival instincts.
Cerebellum located at the back of the brain stem. Bringing Light here helps with our sense of balance and movement in the body.

Brain Illumination Meditation __________________________________________________________________________________
Begin by sitting quietly. It is easier to begin with eyes closed but, with practice, the meditation may also be done with eyes open.
Be aware or imagine a tube of light rising from the heart through the top of the head to connect with the Higher Self and ultimately, the Supreme Self. This is the Antakarana, the tube through which we will breathe Pure Divine Light into our whole being.
Now begin breathing cyclically. This is breathing at a normal, comfortable speed and rhythm but without pausing between the in and out breaths.
Breathing consciously in this manner, allow the awareness to move into the heart and take a few breaths here. Move the awareness to the top of the head and breathe here. Now be aware of that tube of light and begin breathing the Pure Divine Light, down from the Higher Self, through the top of the head and into the brain. Breathing in and out, begin directing the Light into all the different parts of the brain. Keep breathing in more Light, filling all areas of the brain. See the brain sparkle with Light. Expand the Antakarana, allowing more and more Light to flow into the brain. Breathe in the violet light of transformation, the golden light of Pure Consciousness. Allow the Light to grow brighter, increasing beyond the brain to create an aura or halo around the head.
Now continue breathing in the Light and allow it to flow down the spine and into all areas of the body. With every breath, bring more Light into the body, arms, chest, back, legs and feet. When the Light reaches the feet, let it flow down into the ground, connecting with the earth’s grid. Breathe the Light into any areas of non-light.
Breathe the Light into the Chakras, the energy centers of the body. Allow the Chakras to spin at whatever speed and direction feels comfortable. Allow their frequency to rise.
Now breathe Light into all the organs, into the blood, deep into the cells and the DNA.
Consciously ask the Light to expand beyond the physical body and into the subtle bodies, the aura surrounding the physical body.
Be fully awake in the Light, be that Light, love that Light, live as that Light.
With the intent of your will, anchor and establish the Light within you, as you.
This meditation may be practiced as often as convenient but at least daily.
